FROZU! Supports Local Food Banks in Atlantic Canada
Truro, NS (April 7, 2016) – FROZU!, Atlantic Canada’s largest frozen yogurt chain, is offering a delicious way for Atlantic Canadians to enjoy a tasty treat while supporting a worthy cause. On April 17, FROZU! will hold a food drive in aid of food banks across Atlantic Canada. A free FROZU! frozen yogurt will be offered to every customer who brings in a food item or cash donation to one if its 17 self-serve, weigh-and-pay shops.
“Since we opened our first shop in 2013, communities throughout Atlantic Canada have embraced the FROZU! concept of delicious flavor varieties and fresh fruit and toppings,” says Michael Whittaker President, Grinner’s Food Systems Limited, and the franchisor behind the brand. “The food drive is a small token of our appreciation to the communities who have contributed to FROZU’s phenomenal growth over the past three years.”
In October, 2014, FROZU! made a donation to the Beresford, New Brunswick food bank when the chain served its 100,000th customer there. “To reach this milestone so early in the development of our brand was certainly a cause for celebration,” recalls Don Moore, VP Operations for Grinner’s. ”It only seemed fitting that we mark this milestone by giving to the local food bank, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. Now, as we approach our fourth anniversary, it seems to be another opportune time to give back to the 17 communities we serve in Atlantic Canada.”
Financial donations allow food banks to purchase the items they need when food supplies run low. Moore and Whittaker encourage Atlantic Canadians to join them in helping stock the shelves of their local food banks and have a free yogurt on FROZU!
